What is going on with Los Angeles Chargers WR DJ Chark?

Overview of trauma around Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver DJ Chark continues to be one of the more confusing details surrounding the team heading into Week 9.

Chark, signed last offseason to help Justin Herbert’s offense in a world without Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, went on injured reserve in September with a hip injury.

And while the team recently opened a 21-day return window for Charkhe gave up struggling with a new injury according to reports for the last two weeks.

Now, roughly 16 days into that window, Chark was again limited during practice Wednesday before the team heads to play the Cleveland Browns. Technically, he could miss one more game before making the active roster.

According to Tuc Ni Nguyen with Los Angeles TimesChark looks like a guy ready to possibly get back on the field this weekend.

The Chargers will certainly need help with Ladd McConkey’s play, which earned him the rating head coach Jim Garbaugh’s stunning comparison. Chark was supposed to be the piece that would stretch the field, spread the offense and allow guys like McConkie to succeed.

Chark could technically be that guy starting in Week 9. But it’s worth noting that he made it this far into that 21-day window after the team decided not to even open that window three weeks ago during the bye week. New injury or not (and we may never get the official details), Chark has missed the first seven games of his Chargers tenure, and could be in as many as eight innings if he suits up at all.
